This is the time of the year when rattlesnakes are most active. I have killed two in the last two mornings while driving ranch roads. The snake pictured above is swallowing a morning dove. Even in the short grass you would have to be alert to see it. With the dry conditions and mostly dry grass which we have now they are even more difficult to spot. So, if you are out and about slow down and watch where you step.
This is Klint and Angela's, Kylie, showing me the "seashells" she gathered at the pond. This is Kole who just turned three checking out his fishing pole. You get little boys and mud together and that makes for lots of "fun". Kole, showing me the big earthworm. Kylie searching for her "seashells" while her Dad, Klint, fishes. Kids out having fun.
Does being released on the Poth ranch. Unloading does from a pickup after beeing netted from a helicopter then picked up by four wheelers and taken to a main road from where they were picked up and taken back to the trailers. Getting things ready by darkening the inside of the trailer.
Helicopter lifting off to go shoot a net down on another doe. Mark's helper Ysiedro removing a net from a captured doe. Thanks to Mark Erspamer for all of his help. He came and brought his ranch hand to help. Thanks to Klint Graf for helping in lots of ways. Thanks to Sam Syring for all of his help. He was the one that kept saying, "When are you going to start your fence".
With the dry conditions in this part of Texas, we haven't had a decent rain since September, the wildflowers are few and far between. These are some of the pictures I had stored from years past.
I've attached two different pictures of the same group of "Carnes" family. See if you can find yourself in these pictures. These were taken outside of Ruidoso New Mexico at a Carnes Reunion that Uncle Bob Carnes arranged.
We have just returned from a fun trip to L'Auberge du Lac Hotel and Casino. We met good friends Sam and Dianne Syring and Dwight and Nancy Nieschwitz there. We enjoyed some relaxing time visiting and had fun betting.
Here they are, Kristi, Lex, and Sandra, cooling off at "Cantinflas" after visiting the Irish Festival down by the river. We had a great visit! Thanks, Kristi and Lex. Downtown Greenville... The lake at Paris Mountain park...
