Bow Hunt

Gerald Swierc sent me this picture of his brother William posed with the nice deer he arrowed while hunting the Borrego. Any deer is a trophy with a bow as there are basicly four things you have to accomplish, none of which are easy which makes it fun...
1. You have to position yourself close enouogh to make a good shot which is usually inside of thirty yards or so.
2. You have to be able to draw your bow without the deer noticing you and bounding away.
3. You have to hit the deer in a vital spot.
4. You have to be able to trail your deer because very few expire where they are when hit.

Sandra's New Ride

Sandra got her new 2007 Chevy Tahoe on January 11 but just got to take some pictures--notice the coating of ice all over! Nothing like the smell of new leather!

Ice Storm Jan. 17-2007

Old man winter hit South Texas with cold icy rain and turned the place into a winter wonderland. Sandra got to enjoy two additional days off from work!

What is wrong with this picture?

It appears to me that the buck on the right is delivering a blow to the one on the left. What do you think?

Sticking his nose in the feeder.

It will be fun watching this deer grow. He looks to have a good start by eating protein pellets from this feeder. The catch will be trying to identify him next year when he surely will change looks.

Bobcat

I was out this afternoon trying to get some deer pictures when this bobcat came strolling across this opening. I was not quick enough to get a better picture.

Pigs in a pen...

Uncle Gus Swierc checks out three feral hogs in a trap. These are just the right size for some good barbeque.
