Something good to eat

This looks like one of every kind... a doe, a mature buck, a medium age buck, and a buck putting on his first set of antlers.

New antler progress

Here are three of the more mature bucks. Check the time they are feeding.... 1:07 AM. They are up feeding in the cool part of the morning.

Double Notch and his Mother

I named this yearling buck Double Notch because of the two slight indentations on the margin of his right ear.
Here he is pictured with his Mother.

As you can see his Mom is starting to show that she is getting heavy with fawns too. Most of the fawns will be born between the middle of June to the middle of August.

Does are starting to show that they are pregnant.

I bet this one has twins. What do you think?

Feeding Time

Today I cast netted some bait fish and fed them to these three alligators. I had them about six feet from the Kawasaki Mule I was in. Cute aren't they? Don't ask me if they are males or females they all look alike to me.

Every day is Mother's Day for Sandra

Sandra is all smiles again today. Another present, this one from Lindsay and Greg, arrived here from Singapore. She got some pretty earrings that match a neclace that Lindsay had given her earlier. You kids really did good.

You had better watch where you step.

When I was a kid at home growing up my favorite thing to do was get home from school and head to the pasture behind my folks' home in Poth. I would announce to Mother where I was headed and she would always tell me, "Watch for snakes". That along with Lex and my passion for finding Indian artifacts has probably helped me to not get bit, yet. I say it that way because I have had my share of close calls. Today I spotted this rattler before it got disturbed. I told someone just the other day that of all the pictures I've taken of wildlife I had yet to photograph a snake before dispatching it. Anyway today that was on my mind and I had my camera. So..... I took pictures first.

Stilt Sandpiper?

Too Close For Comfort...

I guess the camo works. Whew!
