Catfish feeding on the surface...

When I throw out feed for the catfish I usually have about five that come to munch it up. I bet the alligator ate most of the rest when the tank was low last year.

The best of the "Natives"...

This is the best of the native deer I had when I high fenced in September of 2005. He appears to be about five years old. He had nine points last year. It will be interesting to see if he pushes out a tenth point this year.

Mother's House

Tricia and I were at Poth doing some work today. I thought you might enjoy seeing the home there.

Lilliepads in the tanks...

I have no idea how these plants got into the large tank. They must have been brought in by birds is my only guess. I do remember seeing some years ago in another tank that Patricia now has. Anyone having a clue, I would really like to know how they spread.

Dreaming about having their own boat...

Maybe someday.........

Gaylord Opryland

We stayed at the Gaylord in Nashville where Sandra's conference was held. It is a beautiful place as you can see. Sandra spent her days confrencing while I spent time watching Tiger almost win another U.S. Open title, the college world series of baseball, and checking out the neat things inside of this nine acre expanse. Kristi and Lex came in for the weekend which made it an extra-special trip.

Rolling on the river...

Lex and Kristi met us in Nashville and one of the things we did was take a lunch cruise down the river. It was so much fun spending time with them only it passed too quickly.

#7's boy gets his first set of antlers.

Pictured is #7 with her buck fawn. He is sporting his first set of antlers. It will be interesting to watch and see what he has when he has grown them out. I will be happy if he has six points. I guess I should change her name, his mamma, to Sandra, although I better run that by the Vice President in this organization first, THINK?

Mealtime...

Check the time they came to feed. Also check out the tummies, it won't be long before they have their fawns.

Guess who's coming to dinner?

I saw this picture and couldn't figure what it was. The pictures before and after showed nothing.

Then the feed stealer showed his face. It is a large "packrat". They get their name from dragging sticks, prickly pear leaves, dried cattle droppings, and such to make a large pile over their homes to prevent coyotes and the like from easily getting to them. I guess it gives them time to escape. Anyway, this one has figured out how to get an easy meal.

Bucks

The antlers are starting to fork.

Some of the bait I caught this morning with my cast net in the Atascosa river.

This is one of several crawfish I netted. This one is missing one of his claws.
This is a small Rio Grande perch.

I caught several small large mouth bass.

These last two pictures are of a male Red Horse minnow, I think the real name is a Red Shiner.
