Sprinkle out some corn and wait for the bucks to show

Even though he looks like he is artificial, the buck facing left IS alive...he is focused on something interesting in the brush to the left.  The other buck is not concerned about what his compadre sees.

Levi is 1 Month Old!!

Check out how Levi is growing!  You can tell he is a contented and happy baby boy!  He weighed 8 pounds and 7 ounces at birth and now, at one month, is 10 pounds and 13 ounces; also, he has stretched out from 21 inches at birth to 23 inches already!  He is doing so well!

Poth Family in South Carolina

We just returned from visiting Kristi, Lex, Katelyn, and Levi for Thanksgiving.  We already miss them "Mucho".  Levi is such a calm content little boy.  I thought I could notice him growing each day.  Miss Katelyn is such a good "big sister".  She goes non-stop playing each waking hour.  I barely arrived when she had me sit and play school with her.  During one of the sessions she surprised us all by learning to spell her name... K A T E L Y N.  Then soon after.... P O T H.  Not bad for two years, three and a half months.  She was always coming up with some huge word and using it correctly.  Kristi and Lex will have a full time job keeping new stuff in front of her.  Thanks Lex and Kristi for the fun time.

Poths are celebrating this morning! Leissner Ferdinand Poth, IV, "Levi"

Mighty good looking boy.  In time he will understand how lucky he is to have Kristi and Lex for parents.
Everyone is smiling and happy in South Carolina.
Katelyn is happy too!  All of Levi's family and extended family are celebrating.  I went in to my daily "El Castillo" for breakfast this morning celebrating and giving all a big South Texas "Grito" and announcing " Tenemos Nieto", we have a grandson after a loud Aieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Plowed land

I got the oats planted at just the right time.  This was brushland last year at this time.  It really turned out nice.

Javelinas

Ok, this isn't going to work.  Anyone got a suggestion.

Deer Pics...

This deer, an eight point three years old is a management deer that will be hunted.
Here is a five year old that probably injured his pedicle on the left side that caused this deformity.
The deer with his head down in the trough busted both browtines off while scraping out.
This deer is five and had a nice ten point rack last year.  This year he has nine points.
This deer has already been fighting.  You can barely see the cut on his right shoulder.
This is a nice deer with some small extras.

Oats planted

Above are some of the pictures the game cameras captured while I was having the senderos planted with oats for the deer.

Bobcat

This cat looks big enough to take a deer down by himself.

Mixed Bag

 Dark-thirty
Stopping for a sip of water.
 Robbers of the night.
 Ocho mas
 Head knocking...
 Like Mother, like fawn.
It has been a long time since we had a good rain.
 Javelinas are doing good.
