Hello....

When I first saw this snake I was sure it was a rattlesnake. I grabbed my shotgun and walked up to it and it coiled and started hissing at me. It was then I realized it was a bull snake. I went back for my camera and recorded this picture. Nothing like a little excitement.

Ocho, are there two of them?

I thought I had a nice year old eight point. Now I think I have two. Check out the brow tines and length of antlers on both of these deer's left side. Do you agree? What a nice surprise! Only now which one gets the name "Ocho"? I guess I could call the other one "Ocho Mas".

Ace.... I think he likes his picture taken.

Bruto

This is the deer I named "Bruto". You can see how thick he is and understand how he got his name.

Ocho trying to act like the big boys

This deer I named "Ocho" because he has eight points on his first set of antlers. He has been out acting like the big boys. Or, maybe he just decided to put on a little extra so he could fit in.

A little trash on top

Opening up some holes in the brush

Pictured is Randy Gaydos's operator, "Rocky", root plowing one of the senderos that I'm having cut away from the deer blinds. Notice that on most of the lanes I'm having them stack brush at the end to stop the bullet when a shot is made.

This is an extra long sendero that connects the last food plot and blind to the old field. These senderos will also double as food plots for spring or fall plantings.

Carnes Reunion in Floresville, 10-13-2007

I didn't get everyone's picture I guess because I was having so much fun visiting. I don't think I even got pictures of Nancy and Joey Damato and Molly and they came all the way from Florida. I see I did get a picture of Ray Owens and daughter Leah. A good time was had by all.

Oats being plowed in...
