The first fawn caught by a trail camera.

Number 13 brought her fawn to this feeder. I'm guessing she had it hidden close by and had just finished nursing it.

No, they don't all make it...

I found these remains this morning. I'm guessing it was caught and killed by a coyote. This is the second one I've found this year.

Look what I spotted...

I was lucky to spot this fawn laid up in this brush pile. I just wonder what was going through it's mind.

Quail Pair

I stopped long enough on my rounds this morning to capture this quail pair. I hope they are nesting.

What a difference a year of age makes...

This is a three year old that is much wider and taller than last year.

It is hard for me to tell which deer this one is without seeing his body.

This looks like "Ace". He is growing a "sticker" on his right G-3.

Some of the Boys

Looking good!

Lindsay biking the hills around Leakey

We stayed in this comfortable home. Here Lindsay is getting ready for a ride.
She is pretty proud of her new bike. I tried my best to get her to let me take it for a spin. The best I could get was a smile and one of those looks.

And........................ she's off. It is just a fifty mile circle through some pretty tough climbing and then the flats. Leakey to Vanderpool then Utopia and back to Leakey. It makes me tired just thinking about it. Sandra and I were her Sag.

Visit with Katie and Leonard

We traveled to Leakey this past Sunday so that Lindsay could get some bike riding in before she and Greg go to watch the last stages of the Tour de France. We stopped in to visit our good friends Katie and Leonard May at their beautiful house on the banks of the Frio River at Concan. Here Lindsay is pictured with Katie and Leonard. What a good time we had and how blessed we are to have such great friends.

Feeding while it is cool

This deer is feeding at daybreak. They avoid the heat during the middle of the day.
